Cookie Settings

Last updated: June 5, 2026

This page explains how Ilm Academy uses cookies and similar technologies. Cookies are small text files stored on your device that help the platform work securely and remember your preferences.

Essential cookies

These cookies are required for the platform to function. They cannot be disabled while using the service.

  • Session cookie — keeps you signed in as you move between pages and complete lessons.
  • CSRF / security token — protects forms and actions against cross-site request forgery.
  • Authentication cookies — used by Laravel and Sanctum to maintain a secure login state.

Functional cookies

These cookies support features you expect from a learning platform:

  • Remember preferences — such as language or UI choices where supported.
  • Maintenance bypass — temporary cookie allowing administrators to access the site during maintenance mode.

Analytics and marketing

Ilm Academy does not currently use third-party advertising or cross-site tracking cookies on student learning areas. We do not use behavioral advertising targeted at children. If we add optional analytics in the future, this page will be updated and, where required, we will ask for your consent before placing non-essential cookies.

Children’s accounts (COPPA)

Student learning profiles for learners under 13 should be managed under a parent or teacher account. We limit cookies on student-facing learning to essential session and security cookies needed to deliver the educational service. Non-essential tracking cookies are not used for child-directed learning without appropriate consent.

Third-party services

When you use certain features, third parties may set their own cookies:

  • Payment provider (Stripe) — when you subscribe or manage billing, Stripe may use cookies required to process payments securely.
  • Embedded content — video or external resources inside lessons may use cookies governed by those providers' policies.

Managing cookies in your browser

You can control or delete cookies through your browser settings. Note that blocking essential cookies may prevent you from logging in or completing lessons.

  • Chrome — Settings → Privacy and security → Cookies and other site data
  • Firefox — Settings → Privacy & Security → Cookies and Site Data
  • Safari — Settings → Privacy → Manage Website Data
  • Edge — Settings → Cookies and site permissions
